Health and longevity books, briefed

Fifteen health books in five points each. This is the shelf with the strongest financial incentives behind it, so it is the one to read most carefully.

Check what the book is attached to

A health book frequently sits at the front of a business: a clinic, a supplement line, a programme, a testing service. That does not make the content wrong, and it does shape which evidence gets emphasised and which caveat gets left in the endnotes.

The useful question is not "is this author honest" but "what would this book have to concede for the business behind it to look worse". Books with nothing to sell read noticeably differently.

Where the shelf is strong and where it is speculative

A brief is not a consultation

Five points cannot carry a dose, an interaction, or the condition that makes standard advice wrong for you specifically. If a brief here prompts a change to medication, a diagnosed condition or a pregnancy, that is a conversation with a doctor, not a summary.
