brefly helps people turn long reading into a short, useful brief. Paste an article, your notes, or a PDF and get the ideas that matter without creating an account.

Why we built it

The web keeps getting longer while attention stays limited. brefly exists for students, researchers, builders, and curious readers who want a fast first pass before deciding what deserves a full read.

Who maintains brefly

brefly is an independent product built and maintained by the brefly team. We own and operate the website, the summarization tools, and the public book-brief library.

How the product works

Text is sent to a summarization model and returned as a short list of key points. PDFs are read in the browser before their extracted text is sent for summarization. Pasted text and uploaded PDFs are not published.

How the library works

The book library contains original editorial briefs written in our own words. A brief is a fast orientation, not a replacement for the book. Each page identifies the book and author and includes a clear invitation to read the original work.

Our standard

We aim for useful, specific, honest summaries. When something is wrong or unclear, tell us. We review reported issues and update pages when a correction improves the reader's understanding.
