These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of brefly (the "Service"), available at brefly.com. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

brefly is a public library of original editorial briefs about books, public web pages, news, sport, research, and ideas. It also offers an optional tool that produces short summaries of text, web pages, and documents you provide. Briefs may contain errors or omissions and are not a substitute for reading the original source.

2. Accounts and plans

The public library is free to read. The optional summarization tool has a free daily allowance and may have paid plans or additional features when offered. Any applicable limits and prices are shown at checkout.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) process content you do not have the right to use; (b) summarize unlawful, infringing, or harmful material; (c) attempt to overload, reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service; or (d) resell the Service without permission. We may block abusive traffic and remove library pages when necessary.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the text and files you submit. Pasted text and uploaded documents are private and are not published. Public-source summaries may be published as library pages, as described in our Privacy Policy. Book titles, source names, and links remain the property of their respective owners.

5. Payments

Paid plans are billed through our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com, which handles payment, invoicing and applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; see our Refund Policy.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Briefs are for orientation and general information, not medical, legal, tax, or personalised financial advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, brefly is not liable for decisions made based on a brief.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
